Our Doctrine
We believe that the Holy Bible is divinely inspired and is,
therefore, the very word of God. It is the ultimate and final
authority over all human opinions and creeds.
We believe that God is that infinite Spirit in whom all things have
their source, ongoing and end. He exists in three persons, Father,
Son, and Holy Spirit, and yet is One God.
We believe that Jesus Christ was miraculously born of the virgin
Mary, was conceived of the Holy Spirit without the agency of a human
father. He was the full visible manifestation of the Father in His
person, and yet fully human. By His death on the cross of Calvary,
He made a full atonement for the sin of the elect assuring their
salvation.
We believe that man was created on the sixth day in the image of
God. Through his disobedience to God's command, he fell from his
state of righteousness to a state of total depravity, in which all
mankind now abides. Man's only hope of restoration is through the
regenerating power of the Holy Spirit applying the sinless sacrifice
of Jesus Christ.
We believe that all men are sinners, and in order for them to be
saved, they must be born again. The New Birth is an instantaneous
event whereby the sinner becomes a new creation in Jesus Christ,
born again unto life everlasting.
We believe that the church is the Body of Christ on the earth, that
it was established on the Day of Pentecost, and that it will
continue to be the only body of God's elect people until God's
purposes are completed and He calls her home. The Body of Christ is
now manifested by local congregations of immersed believers, who
carry out the commands of Christ until He comes a second time. The
local church is God's only divinely constituted agency to carry out
the ordinances of baptism and the Lord's table, as well as
world-wide evangelism. We also believe that each church
congregation is independent from human
authority and answers only to the will of the Great Shepherd of the
Sheep
